Valentina Silva

May 21, 1937 ~ November 9, 2022

Valentina Silva, age 85, of Grand Rapids went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Lopez; her mother, Rosa (Trevino) Lopez; her brothers: Porfilio, Ysabel, and Pifanio; and her sisters: Felicita, Erminia, Inez, Louisa, and Paula. Valentina was a strong, proud woman and devoted mother with a servant’s heart, who devoted much of her time to others’ needs. She always was available wherever and whenever you needed her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Silva, of 47 years; her sons, Sicilio Sr. and Diane Cantu, Tony and Sherry Silva, John Cantu; her daughters, Anita Taylor, Irma Peña; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rosemary and John Paullus, Sally Ricones. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 12:00 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave, Wyoming. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, November 19 from 11-12 at the funeral home.

Dear David & Family, Our sympathy to you on the loss of your dear, sweet Tina. We had the pleasure of meeting her when she worked at the Alma Latina and then she and David rented from Tom's folks on Jackson St. She was a wonderful lady, a hard worker, kept things clean and neat and she was fun to talk to. (Tom's folks are both 100 and his sisters have moved them to an assisted living facility in Milwaukee.) We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
