Wanda Elaine VanLiew, age 78, of Belmont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Wanda was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was blessed with a contagious laugh and determined spirit. Blessed with a strong work ethic, she retired from Keeler Brass after many years of faithful service. Over the years, she enjoyed working in her yard tending to her beautiful flower gardens and bird feeders. She had the gift of creativity and decorating, helping many people with their decoration needs. Above all, her contentment and resilience in all of her life circumstances will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Sarah Van Slooten; her son, J. Stuart VanLiew; her siblings, Mary DeVree, June Wyngarden, Bonnie Elzinga, Doug VanSlooten.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Julia VanLiew; grandson, Rob VanLiew; great-grandchildren, Jax Quinn and Boone Stu VanLiew; sister, Polli Stroven; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends. At Wanda’s request, cremation has taken place. A private memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Burial will take place at Salem Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Newaygo County Compassion Home.
