Wanda Kok

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and daughter, Wanda Lou Kok (Van De Pol), on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was 64 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family.

Wanda was born on October 7, 1959, in Jenison, MI. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her will always be remembered. 

Wanda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Don; children, Nick Kok and Cheyenne Snoderly, Roxi and Richie Diaz, Ben Kok and Abbey Vogelaar, and Jackie Kok and Jack Pountney; grandchildren, Alaia Cudia, Amar Kok, Oenomaeous Cudia, Kingsley Kok, and Rafael Diaz; mother and stepfather, Georgine and Casper Dick; and sister, Laura and Dave Percy. She was proceded in death by her father, Melvin Van De Pol.  

Throughout her life, Wanda enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren - Grandma Fridays will be a cherished memory for them. She didn’t let the limitations of her illness hold her back from being the best mother and grandma she could be. She was a devoted Christian and was always encouraging people through her love of Christ. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. We know she is watching eternal sunsets from her rocking chair while keeping an eye on her children and grandchildren. May she finally be able to take a deep breath and rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Baldwin St. Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St. Jenison. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, August 21 from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. An additional hour of visitation will be held starting at 10 am prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The American Lung Association in Wanda’s memory.
