Dr. Winabelle Mae “Aunt Nee” Gritter, age 90, of Wyoming, is now rejoicing at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after going to Glory on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Cornelia Gritter; siblings, Gerald (Joan) Gritter, Alfred (Bonnie) Gritter, Willard (Perk) Gritter, John (Doris) Gritter, Marvin (Bonnie) Gritter; nephew, Bob Gritter; niece, Kathy “Beane” Lynema; great-great-nephew, Isaiah Densborn; great-great-niece, Rain Waalkes. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Judy Gritter; 21 nieces and nephews, 52 great-nieces and great-nephews, 102 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and one great-great-great-niece, whom she loved very much; and those whose lives she touched in her mission work. As a young child, Aunt Nee had a deep desire to be a missionary. She had an amazing passion for sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ and His love. Aunt Nee faithfully served her Lord and Savior on the mission field for 70 years. She began her missionary journey in Zuni, New Mexico, then serving in Taiwan, Mexico, Central and South America, and Cuba, making her last trip there in April. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 8, from 5-8 p.m. at Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Ron Kool officiating. The burial will take place at Garfield Park Cemetery.
