Betty Perks

On Thursday, February 2, 2023 (Groundhog Day), Betty Perks, at the age of 95, put aside the shadow of her former self and was transported to see her Lord and Saviour face to face. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, faithfulness, and servanthood. She was a devoted Air Force and Vietnam veteran wife, with travels to France, Alabama, Hawaii, and Indiana. She last worked in admissions at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center. She brought joy to all the lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lawson “Bob” Perks; daughter, Pamela Perks; brother, Jim; sisters, Mary Lou, Jackie, Joanie, and Gracie. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert and Jodi Perks, David and Cindy Perks; grandchildren, Mary (Greg) DeWeerd, Nissa Smith, Cristin (Nathan) Riebel, Joshua (Amy) Perks, Alexis (Adam) Dunigan, Lesley (Kim) Girao, Paul (Alison) Perks, Aaron Perks; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Reyner; and extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Inurnment at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
