“Well done, good and faithful servant”

On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Carol Jean VanDyken went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Carol’s favorite verse was Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Carol lived her life for Christ and was an incredible prayer warrior! Carol will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Paul VanDyken; daughters, Nicole (Brad) Mokma, Stephanie (John) Bakale; grandchildren, Zoie, Nolan, Cooper, Kiptyn, Bentley, Eden, and Gibson. She is also survived by her mother, Doris Steenbergen; brothers, Ed (Becky) Steenbergen, Len (Bobbi) Steenbergen; sisters-in-law, Linda (Randy) Veldhouse, Cheryl (Cal) Hendricks; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Steenbergen; her parents-in-law, Herm and Gladys VanDyken; and her sister-in-law, Carol VanDyken. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Rick VanderWall officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, June 26, from 4-7 pm and Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
