Charles George Duimstra

Charles G. Duimstra, age 87, of Grandville, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Chuck was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Chuck was known for his love for classic cars, motorcycles, traveling, cracking jokes, and participating and winning trophies in the Metro Cruise. He was a man of God, and a member of First Reformed Church of Grandville. Chuck especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Duimstra; sons, Charles Duimstra, and David Duimstra; second wife, Josephine Duimstra; and sisters, Patricia Orszula and Evelyn Plummer. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sibille and Jason LaMontagne, James and Lori Duimstra, Kim Duimstra; stepchildren, Eric Dent, William and Leticha Dent, Lisa and Darby DeVoss; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Butch) and Pat Duimstra, Jack and Joyce Duimstra; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Bud Pratt officiating. Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
