Clara Vuyst

Clara Vuyst (Bosscher), age 88, loving wife, mother, grandma, Oma, sister, and friend ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior free of dementia on February 4, 2024. Clara was born on November 11, 1935 to Hendrik and Grace Bosscher in the Netherlands. At the age of 18, she and her family immigrated to New Jersey. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Hendrik and Grace (Schootstra) Bosscher, Catrinus Schootstra; infant sister, Ina Bosscher; sisters, Cora Helder and Diane Karel; and brother, Art Bosscher. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Christiaan; children, Jane and Dave Van Dyken, Rick and Susan Vuyst, Chris and Daena Vuyst, Alex and Jill Vuyst; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Angie Vuyst, David and Jen VanDyken (Kinley, Breelyn), Rick and Jenn Vuyst (Max), Josh Vuyst (Evelyn, Aiden), Kristin and Dan Fennema (Lakelyn, Bentley), Katie and Steve Harvey (Xavier, Landon, Noah), Laura and Dylan Huizinga (Penelope), Stacey and Jon Brander, Gabe and Jade Francisco, Rachel Webb, and Josh Webb; sisters, Jane Evele, Mary Visser, Elly and Ken Pasma; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jannie Vuijst, Louis and Gerrie Vuijst, Wim and Arda Vuijst, Barrie Vuijst, Els Vuijst; many nieces and nephews. Clara will be remembered for her servant’s heart. She loved everyone dearly and surrounded us with her prayers. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center Ave. SW, Wyoming with Pastor Roger Groenboom officiating. Burial will take place at Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, February 7, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 at the church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice or Sunset Legacy Foundation (Reflections). The family wishes to thank every loving caregiver from Sunset Manor Reflections and Emmanuel Hospice. Clara loved them all.
