Darlene “Ding” Loree Parrish (Miller), age 60, of Comstock Park, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lakeview, Michigan and graduated from Comstock Park High School and Chic University of Cosmetology. Darlene was a kind and loving wife, daughter, sister, and aunt who was blessed with a contagious personality and a smile that could brighten any room. She had a servant’s heart and would do anything for anyone. Her glass was always half full, and she woke up every morning with a positive spirit. She thrived being with family and friends, and could form an instant relationship with anyone she met. Once you were a friend, you were considered family. Darlene enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her garden. She had a love of animals and had many pets over the years. Darlene was blessed with the gift of cooking, making many delicious meals and her famous salsa from the vegetables she grew in her garden for many. Above all, her love and commitment to her family was evident to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Miller. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years, Randy Parrish; father, Clark “Bob” Miller; siblings, Vivian (Steve) Hull, Char Olson, Charlie (Laurie) Miller, Jennifer (Scott) Hankamp; brother-in law and sister-in-law, Dan and Sherry Thurlow; many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Spectrum Health Rehabilitation and Nursing for the love and compassionate care given to Darlene during her time there. A visitation to celebrate Darlene’s life will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 2-6 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gilda’s Club or to West Michigan Humane Society.
