Darlyne Shoemaker

Darlyne (Schelhaas) Shoemaker, age 94, of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly and was called to her heavenly home on Monday, September 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Eugene; siblings, Marie (Art) Kok, Ramona Schelhaas, Bettie Bultsma, Eunice (Dan) Pfeiffer; grandson, Frank Wheeler; siblings-in-law, Jesse Schelhaas, Virginia (LaVerne) Salmon, Vita Pepper. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robin and Kim Shoemaker, Candice Shoemaker, Bradley Shoemaker; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Merdzinski, Brandon Moore, KiraGrace Shoemaker; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Roland Schelhaas, Sylvia Wormmeester, Ruth and Donn Rubingh; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Goorhouse, Irene Vegter; many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family from noon-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hanley Christian Reformed Church.
