Henry (Bud) Van Dyken, age 87, of Grandville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He will be lovingly remembered by Hildreth, his wife of 61 years; children: Carmen (Terry) Slachter, Karen (Fred) Bazen, Susan (Mike) Harvey, Phyllis (Brent) Hepp, Jennifer (Mark) Cox, Steven (Tammy) Van Dyken; grandchildren: Abby (Scott) Blurton, Anna (Andy) Mulder; Dan (Casey) Buter, Mike (Clare) Buter, Richard (Jenn) Bazen; Melissa Marsh, Stephanie (Dustin) Fuhrman, LeAnn (Evan) Dudasko, Linda (Jacob) Varvel, Erich (Cassie) Harvey; Andrew Hepp, Bryant Hepp; Jenna Cox, Timothy Cox; Rachel Van Dyken, Matthew Van Dyken; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Dykhouse; brother, David Van Dyken; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Alnora Mast, Sharon Engelsman, Jerald (Carole) Engelsman, Janice Loew, Glenn Engelsman, Carol (Jim) Timmer and Cindy Engelsman; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Van Dyken and son-in-law, Stan Buter. Henry was a Christian man, hardworking and practical and he passed these values to his children. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army. He retired from Spartan Stores, Inc. and volunteered with his church and Operation Christmas Child. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife, both in the US and abroad. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett Ave. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. A family committal service at Grandville Cemetery will be officiated by Dr. Terry Slachter. Relatives and friends may meet with family Sunday, September 18, from 4-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (MKD) Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also Monday one hour prior to the service.
