Irene Jean Schoen

Irene Jean Schoen, age 88, of Wyoming, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her family at home on Friday, March 22, 2024. Her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unmatched and will always be cherished. Jean was known for her kind heart, sense of humor, generous and giving hands, and steady love without judgment. Her dedication to God was abundantly clear throughout her entire life, and her final days were spent being comforted by His presence and a hope for what was to come in Heaven. Along with her faith and love for the Lord and her family, Jean will be remembered for her love for gardening, her ability to make anyone smile, and the endless number of extraordinary meals that came from her kitchen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Schoen Jr; brothers and sisters, Betty Conner, Jack Cummings, Dorothy Stevens, Marion Swainston, Joy Linsley, Paul Cummings; granddaughter, Sara Jean Schoen; brother-in-law, Henry Schoen; and sister-in-law, Betty Parks. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doug and Wendy Schoen, Brenda and Bob Ballard, Mike and Lorie Schoen, Terri Schoen, Neal and Carol Schoen, Mark and Mishelle Schoen, Patti and Dave Selvius, Charlie and Sarah Schoen, and Karen and Bob Schlinz; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie and Haeng Cha Cummings; sister; Kathleen Schoen, sister-in-law, Nancy Cummings; brother-in-law, Maynard and Joan Schoen; and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at Ada Bible Church - Kentwood with Rev. Vic Willis officiating. A private burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
