James Joseph Kline Sr.

James Joseph Kline Sr. age 84, of Wyoming, MI went to be with the Lord at home, surrounded by family on August 17, 2022. Jim was born and raised in Wyoming, MI. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and later went on to earn his master’s degree in engineering. He served in the National Guard for 8 years. Jim retired as an engineer from Steelcase, after more than 25 years. Soon after, he realized retirement was not for him and began working for Perfit Corporation, where he enjoyed another 20 years of employment. Jim volunteered at the Catholic Information Center. He also volunteered at “Good News” where he provided support and guidance to divorcees for more than 30 years. He loved animals, enjoyed Saturday night dances at Lincoln Country Club, hanging out at the shop with the guys, tinkering around his own shop, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude (Mike) Kline; sister, Marion (Richard) Rogers; two infant twin daughters, Mary Louise and Mary Katherine; and son-in-law, John Kronberg. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Timothy (Brenda) Kline, James (Tina) Kline Jr., John (Amy) Kline, Kevin (Vickie) Kline Sr., Karen Kronberg (Ken Bunn), and AeHee Jun; along with 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1048 Chicago Drive SW, Wyoming, with Father Charlie Brown presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive on Tuesday, August 23, from 4-8 p.m. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
