Judith Ann Dekkinga

Judith Dekkinga, age 83, of Jenison, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 8, 2024. Born to Julia and Arthur Huisman on December 25,1940, in Cook County, Illinois, Judy was a devout Christian, with a strong love of our Lord and Savior. She was an avid reader of books, loved being around family and friends, and spent as much time as possible in Lake Michigan. She spent her life making sure those around her were taken care of and was always concerned about everyone else’s health before her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law, Ruth Huisman. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cindy (Doug) Carlon, Rick (Melissa) Dekkinga, Connie Huizenga, and Tim (Jen) Dekkinga; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Dave (Lois) Huisman, Howard Huisman, and Ken (Jan) Huisman. She will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Rob Wondergem officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
