Karen Louise VanZalen

Karen VanZalen, age 65, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her mom, Joan Sorensen and significant other Robert Copeland: aunts, Betty Gilman, and Janice Dykgraaf. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Steve VanZalen; children, Brian and April VanZalen, Tara and Jay Rich; grandchildren, Eli, Rozlyn, grandpuppy, Axle; brother and sisters, Field and Amy Sorensen, Sue and Daniel Hubscher, Kelly and Tony Sokoloski; brother-in-laws, Tom and Pauline VanZalen, Larry VanZalen; mother-in-law, Virginia VanZalen; aunt, Sharon Lattimer; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 11 am Saturday, July 13  at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Larry Bush officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, July 12 from 5-8 pm at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to their Caregivers for their amazing care to both Steve and Karen.
