Kenneth W. Koopmans, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather completed his earthly walk and is now eternally with his God - the architect, creator, and keeper of all things. Ken was the youngest child of Thomas and Anna (Witt) Koopmans. He was preceded in death by two of his four cherished children, daughter, Jill Dayton and son, Jack Koopmans; and all of his siblings - brothers, Arthur, Neal, Harry, Donald, and Floyd; and sisters, Sally, Sylvia, and Evelyn.

He is survived by his cherished and beloved wife and friend of 75 years, Dolores (Holmes) Koopmans; daughter, Elissa Koopmans Schwartz of Grandville, MI, and son, Scott Koopmans (Dominique) of Los Gatos, CA; his son-in-law, Dr. Brian D. Dayton (Kim) of Ingleside, IL; his precious grandchildren, Stephanie Schwartz, Amanda Nehring (Jonathan), Julianna Chen (Will), Jared Schwartz (Risa), Spencer Koopmans (Cassy), Emily Dayton, Danielle Roedl (Nick), and Christina Koopmans; and great-grandchildren, Lily Nehring, Andrew Nehring, and Everett Chen; along with many nieces, nephews, and countless dear and abiding friends.

Ken was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1952, and the University of Michigan. He started his business career with IBM and had a successful management career in Information Technology for nearly 50 years. Ken volunteered to serve his country in the Army and spent his active-duty tour in Korea. He loved learning and had an insatiable interest in nature and the world around him.

Ken was a man of faith who will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, and caring nature. He was a man of integrity who cared deeply for others and reached out to assist anyone who sought his counsel. Ken loved helping people strive to reach their God-given potential. Besides spending time with his beloved family, he had a passion for learning and was a voracious and eclectic reader. He also found great pleasure in golfing, writing, music, poetry, gardening, and tinkering in the yard. Ken was very much looking forward to celebrating his 90th birthday on March 31.
