Kiera Joyce Roof

Kiera Joyce Roof was a loving and joyful spirit who brightened the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her smile, laughter and spunk were gifts that will never be forgotten. Kiera found joy in listening to music, the feel of soft blankets and vibration toys, splashing around in the water, feeling the soft breeze and warm sun on her face, the excitement of downhill skiing, boating and tubing, and being loved on by everyone. She gave us a unique perspective on the daily activities we take for granted. Kiera attended the Ottawa Area Center for nine years where she touched the lives of staff and students; her impact will remain strong in their hearts. Many lives revolved around Kiera, and we are all grateful to be blessed with the gift of her life. At the young age of 12, Kiera was called Home by God on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 and is now fully restored in her Heavenly Home. Kiera will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Erika Simpson, father and stepmother, Ben and Ellie Roof; siblings, Liliana (16), Kaleb (13), Gavin (7), and George (5); grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 18 at the Basilica of St. Adalbert, 654 Davis Ave. NW, Grand Rapids with the Very Reverend Ronald Hutchinson celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 9:30 am until 10:45 am at the church, with a luncheon to follow Mass. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to DeafBlind Central or Renew Therapeutic Riding Center.
