Lester DeJong

Lester De Jong, born June 23, 1932, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ann De Jong; brothers, Norman De Jong, Nelson De Jong, and Russell De Jong. Les is survived by his wife, Linda De Jong; children, Linda Miller, Mary De Jong, and Rachel De Jong; grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Joseph Merrill, Ali Marshall; great grandchildren, Cashius Miller, Cole and Haley Marshall; sisters, Dorothy Breems and Lorraine Van Laar.

Les grew up in Rock Valley, Iowa and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa. He enjoyed flying, fishing, traveling in the motorhome, reading, and visiting with people. He was thankful to serve his country in the Korean War.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, May 21 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 660 S. State Street, Sparta, MI. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church starting at 10:00 am. Inurnment at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland, MI. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Algoma Christian School.
