Lorraine Niewiek Swainston, 74, entered into heaven on February 24, 2022. There to welcome her was her heavenly father and savior Jesus Christ, as well as many family members and friends whom arrived before her: daughter, Amie; father, Joe Niewiek; step-mother, Marilyn Niewiek; mother, Eileen Spaans; siblings: Joann Platz, Kay Wormley, Janice Veldhouse, Joe Niewiek Jr. and former husband, Norman Swainston the father of Jodie and Jamie. She will be lovingly remembered by: daughters, Jodie and Jamie Swainston, Marcia Gonzalez, Jessica Medina and Sue Lin; grandchildren: Justin (Xenia), Jordyn, Levi, Aaliyah, Tatiana, Adrianna, Jacob, Jordan, Jasper and David Jelsema; as well as great-grandchildren: Javier and Jeovani; brother, Thomas Niewiek. She had a very special place in her heart for friends that are family: Eddie and Marsha Shrider and family, Marge Palmerlee, Pat Avery, Sandy Samsel, Margaret Huckleberry (Huck), Mark Burg, Don Fletcher, Bill Cole, William and Susan Bolger, Debbie Figures and many others she truly loved. Lorraine graduated from Kentwood High School in 1966. Much later in life she earned her bachelor’s degree from GVSU. One of Lorraine’s early passions was the Tupperware industry which she dominated for over 15 years. She then started Precision Property Management in 1988. She was the owner, president and CEO of her own corporation, which brought her much satisfaction, joy and fulfillment being able to provide housing and working beside many great property owners. Lorraine has blessed many people with an open door to her home; the number is too great to recall all that were welcomed by her. She also worked with Bethany Christian Services as a foster mother for over 25 years and loved and considered so many more as her children. Lorraine’s passion in life was to help the homeless and less fortunate. She was a board member at Degage Ministries for many years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of her to Degage Ministries. A private family graveside service has taken place at Blain Township Cemetery. The family invites all friends and relatives to join them for a Celebration of Lorraine’s Life on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Memories Reception Center of Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, 49418.
