Norma Jean VanDyke

Norma Jean VanDyke, aged 86, stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her home at Georgetown and Cambridge Manor’s Memory Care, under the care of Hospice. Norma was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Young, Warren VanderMeulen, Jesse Woodring, and Don Van Dyke; and sister, Ila Barnett. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Young) and Doug Postma, Dan and Pam Young, Ed Young, Cheri (Young) and Mick Honderd; stepchildren, Terry and Criss VanderMeulen, Sherri and Jim McShane, Larry VanderMeulen, Jerry and Rita VanderMeulen; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred and Bev Wibert, Chuck and Betty Wibert; and many nieces and nephews. Norma enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and her summers at Sandy Pines. She loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed her waitress jobs. Norma suffered from dementia and lived in Georgetown and Cambridge Manor’s Memory Care, where the caregivers served her with love, and were devoted to her. Her nickname there by one of her caregivers was “Beauty Queen”, and it suited her well. A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Dr., Hudsonville, with a luncheon to follow. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial at Rosedale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baruch Senior Ministries - Georgetown and Cambridge Manors or to Hand2Hand.
