Pedro Garcia Jr., a cherished individual, father, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the age of 53 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pedro’s life stood as a testament to his enduring strength and love in the face of adversities. Despite numerous challenges, he radiated an inner kindness and compassion that left a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He’ll be cherished for his resilience, marked by his goodwill, and for the immense love he held for his family and friends.

Pedro greeted life with an unwavering spirit, finding solace in the company of animals and bringing joy to those around him with his infectious smile. Pedro discovered immense happiness in biking, his passion evident in his ability to effortlessly outpace anyone, whether on foot or wheels. Additionally, he took great pride in his Puerto Rican heritage, cherishing the richness of his cultural roots and embracing the Spanish language with a deep sense of identity and connection.

Pedro leaves behind his cherished son, Pedro Trey Trombly, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life and is currently serving with honor in the Navy during Operation Prosperity Guardian. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters and close family: Herminia, Rosa Felicita, Maria, Alfredo, Jose Miguel, Liz Omaira, Chiara, and Luis Garcia Rosa, Alfredo, Juan “Cano”, Pablo, Tomás, and Isidoro Jr. Garcia. He is preceded in death by the passing of his mothers’ Mrs. Alvara Mulero and Mrs. Esterina Rosa Garcia. He is also preceded in death by his father Mr. Pedro Garcia Sr., brother, Wilifredo and grandparents. In honoring Pedro’s memory, his family kindly asks for understanding as they grieve this unexpected loss and commemorate the life of an exceptional soul.

Memorial services will be held 1 pm Thursday, January 11 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming with Rev. Steven Cron officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family 12-1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
