Raymond Anthony Corris Jr. (Swifty), age 68, passed away on March 3, 2024, after losing the fight with the court system, medical system, and then hospice. His last win was hanging on until March 3 for one last Social Security check. Raymond was honest, trustworthy, and more generous than his means. Growing up in Chicago and living in St. Louis for a while, he enjoyed being a lifeguard, playing softball and baseball, bowling, golf, and playing piano and guitar. Raymond also enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Cubs and the Bears. His favorite foods were White Castle hamburgers, Johnnie’s Italian beef sandwiches, Oreo cookies, Coca-Cola, Imo’s St. Louis style pizza, Lion’s Choice roast beef sandwiches, and Mr. Burger. Despite his life’s many uphill challenges, he would always greet you with a smile. With loved ones by his side, he gradually and gently passed without pain. Raymond loved his family, cousins, niece and nephew. He also relished his friends and acquaintances and enjoyed picnics with Ally, Meagan, Kaleigh, LJ, Owen, Lucy, and Anne, and always watched with them for the ice cream truck. Raymond was thrilled to be made a part of the Yeo family. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Corris Sr.; and his mother, Dawn M. Callaghan. Raymond is survived by his brother, John Corris and Marybeth Corris (favorite). A private interment, for a small group of close family members and friends, will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. In memory of Raymond, please encourage elder advocacy groups and resist giving control of our seniors to predatory institutions.
