On July 5, 2024 Richard (Dick) A. Moore’s prayers were answered; he met his Lord and Savior, and was reunited with his beloved wife, Dolores in eternity. We are all so happy for him, but he will be dearly missed by his family, Tom and Linda Weaver, Fredrick and Pamela Plainte, Richard and Susan Moore; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
‘Dickie’ was born May 5, 1930 and would be the only child of Jeanette and Richard Moore. As a young boy he spent much of his summers in Leelanau County with his cousins picking cherries and hanging out with family. He and Dolores would raise their family in Grandville where he was always active in his church and the community. Eventually he and Dolores would move to Leelanau County where they would enjoy many years on the lake, sharing their home with family and friends.
Dick was employed at Keeler Brass Company in Grand Rapids for 46 years and was very proud of his time there. When he wasn’t working, he loved to travel and fish, taking many family trips over the years and catching many fish. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. All of whom have their own special memories with ‘Beach Grandpa’.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, July 15 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Les Wiseman officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mary Free Bed.
