Richard Lee Wierckz

Richard Lee Wierckz, age 85, of Lowell, passed away peacefully at home overlooking his beloved Murray Lake on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Dick’s life’s work was as a train conductor for the railroad. He was a hard worker who loved his work, but his greatest love was his family. He enjoyed spending time in Florida with his wife and loved to golf there with his friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ben. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Sharon; children, Pam (Tim) VanDusen, Sue (Kevin) Wagner, Rick Wierckz, Laura (Deric) Lembree; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Claude (Cathie) Wierckz; sister, Valerie (Chuck) Briggs; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 3 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI, with Pastor Mike Haetner officiating. A luncheon will be held following the service. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to service, from 2-3 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
