Shirley Mae Visser

Shirley Mae Visser (VanKoevering), age 85, of Wyoming, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Minor VanKoevering and Thelma Marie Douglas; daughter, Michelle Rainey; brother, Donald VanKoevering; sister, Lorraine Quiett. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dawn (Oliver) Dannah, Lori (Jeffrey) Stemen, Cindy Visser; grandchildren, Meghan McClain, Erinn Brown, Alissa Boeske; honorary granddaughter, Montanna Eddy. Shirley graduated from Godwin Heights High School in 1956 and continued to reside in Wyoming, Michigan all her adult life. She retired from the State of Michigan working for the DMV. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, bowling in a senior league, spending time at the Wyoming Senior Center, and playing Bingo. Funeral services will be held 12 pm Monday, January 16 at MKD Stegenga Funeral Home, 3131 Division Avenue S., Wyoming, with Rev. Bruce Wilson officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family at 11am before services. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
